Abstract: 

- In recent years, the surge in computational power coupled with an exponential increase in data availability has propelled machine learning (ML) to the forefront of scientific inquiry and computational methodology. This paradigm shift has immensely influenced scientific computing, offering novel perspectives and techniques that extend beyond traditional models. My lecture demonstrates a new direction of research and applications where ML not only complements but also enhances traditional computational approaches. Key topics include the integration of machine learning with numerical methods for tackling high-dimensional problems, the application of deep learning in solving intricate inverse problems, and the utilization of ML in refining dynamical system analyses.
